 1. What number do I ring for faults or service queries?

Please call the Farmside customer service team on 0800 Farmside (0800 32 76 74).

2. Who supports the Webline equipment?

Farmside provides free support as part of our Webline service.  If we are unable to help you, we will refer the matter to our wholesaler on your behalf.  Please log all fault calls or service queries with the Farmside customer service team on 0800 Farmside (0800 32 76 74).

 3. If the power is off, will my Webline service work?

No, just like your Farmside satellite broadband connection, Webline requires power to your IPSTAR user terminal (UT) to be operational. You need to bear this in mind when considering whether or not to disconnect from your landline phone service. Farmside recommends that any customers requiring broadband and/or Webline service availability during power outages connect a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) to their Farmside satellite equipment.

4. If my internet connection is down, will my Webline service be affected?

As Webline is a “Voice over the Internet” service, if you are experiencing internet connectivity issues, it is likely that your Webline service will be affected. Please log any service queries with the Farmside customer service team on 0800 Farmside (0800 32 76 74).

5. Does my computer need to be on if I want to make Webline calls?

No, unlike most VOIP services, as long as your internet connection is operational, your computer itself does not need to be on while you make or receive Webline calls.

6. Can I still use my satellite broadband when someone is on the Webline?

Yes.

7. Will my broadband use affect Webline calling?

Normal internet browsing should not affect the quality of a Webline call but some data intensive activities, such as streaming video, could affect the quality of your Webline connection.

8. If I have a point to point connection off my satellite dish, can I still use Webline?

We do not recommend running Webline over a point to point or Wi-Fi connection due to the potential instability of these links.

9. Is there a delay (latency) when talking over the Webline service?

Webline was designed to work over satellite connections so the call quality is very good. The experience of talking over Webline is similar to that of a mobile or international phone call. In fact in some rural areas, the experience may be better than that currently offered over the phone line – no electric fence interference or static hiss!

10. Will Webline be available to ADSL or Wireless customers?

Yes.
