1. Can I keep my home phone number with Webline?
If you choose to disconnect from your landline phone service provider but keep your existing number, Farmside can facilitate transferring (porting) that number to Webline. Number portability release is at the discretion of the provider currently holding the number.
2. Will I always be able to transfer my current home phone number to Webline?
In most cases, transferring your current number to Webline should not be a problem. However, you may not be able to transfer your number if:
- you have any outstanding account issues with your current voice provider
- your current voice provider is unable to facilitate number porting
- you move outside your original local calling area
3. Will there be a charge to transfer my home phone number to Webline?
The charge to port your home phone number to Webline is a one-off service fee from Farmside of $20 + GST.
4. How will I move my account from Telecom or other Telco provider to Webline?
Just contact your Farmside representative on 0800 FARMSIDE (0800 32 76 74) and they will supply you with the necessary documentation to sign.
5. Can I use Webline as a replacement for my Telecom line?
Webline calls go over your Farmside broadband connection and operate completely independently of your phone line. You can use Webline as a toll saver in addition to your phone line, or as an alternative to a landline phone service. We recommend you try Webline before deciding which option will be the best for you.
6. If I transfer my landline home phone number to Webline, will it stay in the Telecom Directory? If I get a new Webline number will this be listed in the Telecom Directory?
The White Pages is no longer just the Telecom directory and can now list numbers for people using non-Telecom voice calling services. Webline numbers will not be listed in public phone directories unless you request this from the directory provider concerned..
