 1. How much data does a phone of fax call use?

All calls (voice or fax) use approximately the same amount of data, about 700KB per minute.

2. What will I be charged if I exceed my data cap on my satellite broadband plan?

If you exceed your data cap, overages will be charged at $0.10 + GST per MB. If you find that you are regularly exceeding your data cap, you can buy more data for Webline or broadband use with an additional data boost.

3. How will I know if I have used my data cap?

Farmside emails usage notifications warnings at 60%, 80%, 100% and 120% of your broadband plan data cap. You can also monitor your data usage by logging on to My Farmside under your customer login.

4. If I’m making a Webline call and someone puts me on hold, will this still use data?

Yes. If you’re on a Webline call, you’re using up data, even when you are on hold and not actually speaking.

5. Do incoming calls to Webline also use up my data allowance?

Yes. Any talk time on Webline, whether on incoming or outgoing calls, uses data from your broadband plan allocation.
