Power Outage in Upper North Island Affecting Some RBI Cell Sites

Service affected: Some Wireless Broadband (RBI) customers in the Upper North Island
Date: 8th December 2016

Due to a widespread power outage in the Upper North Island, a number of Vodafone cell sites are currently without power.

Customers in the following areas may experience degraded mobile service: Ahipara. Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Paihia, Rawene, Hokianga, Awanui, Kaeo, Maungataniwha, Okaihau, Omapere, Opua, Russell, Tauranga Bay, Whangaroa.

Technicians are currently assessing each of the sites as most have switched over to battery power. The team is currently deploying generators to a number of cell sites in order to restore service as a matter of urgency.
